Poison here does not mean hoodoo poison but rabies. Even so, persons could have been found who would have said some evil- ainded person sent a mad dog to bite the victim, thus making it a hoodoo poison affair.]

Well, once a man went picking huckleberries an' he got bit by a rattle- snake, so he run to a woman's house an' de woman said, "Ah'll git a bullfrog right quick."
